Institute of Curiosity & Curating
A home to ideas about curating, past, present & future.
The Institute is an incubator space for future curators, curatorial research and knowledge sharing. It has been designed to demystify curatorial practices and methodologies and invite people in to see behind the scenes of how exhibition making happens, what inspires curators and how it responds to societal changes. It wants to be accessible, entertaining and empowering.
It follows three main themes: the line, frame and fiction.
Line
Line
Everything is connected, we can draw an invisible line through most things. It is the curators job to do this via project management, financial forecasting, creative ideas and audiences / participants to make coherent ideas come to life.
Frame
Frame
What is the context the curator is working in? Whether than be literal (the space / venue / wall), socially, academically, materially (gallery or book) or thematically. Every curator must consider their frame.
Fiction
